Gilbert was honored by the Sacramento Business Journal at their “Partners in Philanthropy” luncheon on December 7.  Gilbert believes in the importance of giving back to the community.  In addition to corporate giving, Gilbert employees have served on various non-profit boards, and have volunteered through Gilbert’s Community Service Days at local organizations like the Sacramento Food Bank, the Women’s Empowerment Center and on the American River Bike Trail.

“We believe community service is an important part of leading a rich and rewarding life,” said Gilbert CFO and shareholder, Darla Colson. “It feels good to help increase the impact that these organizations can have in Sacramento and beyond.”

The Sacramento Business Journal has been recognizing local philanthropic efforts for over 15 years. Today, they honored twenty-four companies for their work in the community.  For the first time with the event, the Journal randomly selected one of today’s honorees, Intel, and will donate $5,000 to a nonprofit organization of their choice.
