Here at Gilbert, we like to say, “Relax. We got this.” We’ve been busy with not only meeting your accounting and strategic advisory needs, but we’ve got the community’s back, too.
We’re proud to announce that we were selected as the recipient of the 2017 CalCPA Firm Public Service Award. We were awarded for our dedication to community and public service in the Sacramento region and the extensive volunteer efforts of our staff. CalCPA is the nation’s largest state accounting organization, serving more than 40,000 members, so this honor is a big deal.
“Community service and volunteer support is in our DNA,” said David Ljung, Gilbert CEO. “We have always given back to the community in a real and meaningful way during our 33-year history. We are committed to making the community a better place live and do business.”
Our team participates in an annual company-wide volunteer day called the Gilbert Community Services Day and has donated more than $50,000 in professional services to nonprofit organizations.
The partners, management and staff at Gilbert are involved in more than 50 community organizations as backers, members, and directors. The Gilbert team volunteered at various nonprofit organizations around Sacramento such as Loaves and Fishes, Sacramento Food Bank, American River Parkway, Habitat for Humanity, Wind Youth Services Snowline Hospice Thrift Store, Volunteers of America, Powerhouse Science Center, Cottage Housing Serna Village, Folsom Zoo, Sacramento Tree Foundation and Saint John’s Program for Real Change.
Linda Geery, a Gilbert partner, adds, “As a company, our philosophy is to be passionate, friendly, caring, and to provide the best customer service to those we serve. It is this philosophy that drives our involvement in the community. It’s great to be part of an organization with an outward focus.”
