Debate continues, but the Trump Administration and Congress acknowledge the need to get cash into the hands of Americans quickly. One possibility is sending checks of $1,000 or more to Americans, said U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin. Also under discussion are other emergency funding tools such as a payroll tax holiday, “but it does come over a period of months, many months, and we want to do something much faster than that,” said President Trump. Mnuchin, who is working with Congress and the President, expects to announce a decision with “broad bipartisan support” soon. Stay tuned.
